Elementary teachers and students will be celebrating and practicing G.U.I.D.E. March 15-19!

G.U.I.D.E. for Life: Growth, Understanding, Interaction, Decisions, Empathy!

Monday:   Wear blue to be cool and calm.

  • Teachers:  We need to address stress management so that we can help students express their emotions and feelings.  Practice breathing and relaxation.
  • Students:  Discuss emotions and feelings with a trusted adult or friend.  Start a journal that includes how you feel.

Tuesday:  Wear gray for softness in looking deep inside our minds.

  • Teachers: Take the time to look deep within to check our self-awareness about various situations.
  • Students:  Find some positive role models in school and in your community.  Ask yourself, “who do I want to be.”

Wednesday:   Wear green for growing friendships and for St. Patrick’s Day.

  • Teachers:  It is necessary to focus on positive relationships and networking.
  • Students:  Being a good friend and making new friends will help with being a good sport.

Thursday:  Wear yellow to represent a sunny outlook.

  • Teachers:  We must make healthy choices about our food and exercise.  Walk outside during duty.
  • Students:  You have to focus on your personal safety and your responsibilities.

Friday:  Wear purple for being a part of Junction City.

  • Teachers:  It is important to rely on community resources and supports.  We need to interact with our community.
  • Students:  Students should be active with the community by showing respect, manners, listening skills, and kindness.  No bullying.
