DRAGON FOOTBALL INFORMATION RELEASE:
Former Dragon head football coach David Carpenter will return to the Dragon football staff for the 2022 season. Current head coach Brad Smith will remain as the defensive coordinator. Carpenter is joining the off-season program after Spring Break later this month and will take on the head coach role on July 1, 2022. The Junction City Board of Directors approved the action at its regular March meeting.

JCSD Lockdown Clarification: At 8:12 this morning high school administration received a report of a student who was possibly in possession of a dangerous weapon. The school was placed on lockdown while administration and police investigated. The student in question was never on campus this morning and the lockdown was lifted as soon as it was confirmed there was no threat. Lockdown procedures were followed as outlined in the JCSD Crisis Intervention Plan. Students’ safety is always JCSD’s top concern.

Power is out in Junction City and we only have one working phone line. Everyone is fine, if you need to reach the school you can call the admin office at 870-924-4565.
PLEASE READ: Junction City School District was placed on lockdown this morning for a few minutes out of caution only. There was never an actual threat.
Students who ride Coach Harrell’s bus, please expect a 15-20 minute delay this morning.
