JCSD-NECC COVID-19/AMI UPDATE APRIL 3, 2020:
Beginning Monday April 6, only JCSD staff will be allowed in district buildings. For staff to enter the building during operational hours, they must have the nurse’s armband in the color of the day. All staff must report to the nurse for a quick health screen each day.
Parents, students, and other visitors, please do not enter the building. A staff member will meet you at the table at the doorway and help you from a distance. We will begin picking up and delivering AMI packets Monday on school buses. There will be a sealable container on the bus. All paper AMI work will be disinfected before handled. The grading of work may be slow at first as we figure out a system that works. As always we are here to help our JCSD students as much as reasonably possible.
Parents, please contact building principals if you are not getting relevant, challenging AMI work for your students. If we can support your student in his or her independent studies, we will make arrangements. As always, please pray. JCSD is committed to helping; please be patient because we are figuring this out as we go.

Kindergarten registration has been rescheduled to April 16, 2020, from 9:00-2:00 and April 17, 2020, from 9:00-1:00 in the Special Programs Building.
PARENTS: Social distancing will be used and temperatures will be taken before entering the conference room. DO NOT bring your children. Your safety is our top priority! Click this link for information you must bring with you to register your child: https://5il.co/co3h

JCSD SUPERINTENDENT ANNOUNCEMENT: Governor Hutchinson made an announcement that Arkansas public schools will be closed beginning Tuesday, March 17th. Districts have the option to open tomorrow Monday, March 16. JCSD will be open tomorrow but will dismiss early and run buses at 2:00 Monday afternoon starting with elementary loading at 1:50. We believe this will allow our teachers to make more relevant AMI assignments and give parents time to find alternative child care. We will update everyone as soon as more information is available.

UPDATE ON NECC STUDENTS ATTENDING JCSD: Since our previous announcement, we have been in contact with the LDOE regarding continuing school at Junction City school district. Students who are NOT RELIANT on school transportation may have parents transport them to JCSD for classes. For students who are transported by the Northeast Claiborne Charter School bus, an alternative method of instruction is being developed. More information regarding alternative method of instruction will be released on Monday, March 16.
