DRAGON FOOTBALL INFORMATION RELEASE:
Former Dragon head football coach David Carpenter will return to the Dragon football staff for the 2022 season. Current head coach Brad Smith will remain as the defensive coordinator. Carpenter is joining the off-season program after Spring Break later this month and will take on the head coach role on July 1, 2022. The Junction City Board of Directors approved the action at its regular March meeting.

JCSD Lockdown Clarification: At 8:12 this morning high school administration received a report of a student who was possibly in possession of a dangerous weapon. The school was placed on lockdown while administration and police investigated. The student in question was never on campus this morning and the lockdown was lifted as soon as it was confirmed there was no threat. Lockdown procedures were followed as outlined in the JCSD Crisis Intervention Plan. Students’ safety is always JCSD’s top concern.

DISTRICT ANNOUNCEMENT!
Junction City High School principal Joy Mason was appointed the new superintendent of the Junction City School District effective July 1, 2022. The Board of Directors met in a special called meeting Monday night where Mason received a unanimous vote from the board to become the first female superintendent of the district after being the first female high school principal.
Mason replaces Robby Lowe who resigned in February. He will remain superintendent until June 30, 2022. Lowe plans to finish his career focusing on academics and athletics. Click link for full announcement: https://5il.co/16gzs
